GNF Gallery is delighted to present the exhibition Turn a Blind Eye with works by Merzedes Sturm-Lie (SE, BE, NO) and Felix Kindermann (DE). Resulting from a month long exploratory residency during which the artists worked in situ within the gallery space, the exhibition articulates selected works produced over this period. Having chosen as starting point the notorious Golden Record, an object containing recordings of various sounds, music, greetings and pictures from earth sent into the universe in 1977 aboard the US spaceship Voyager, the artists investigated the concepts of reflection and truth: how are is the physicial and mental space constructed and (de)formed? Can a mirror, however faithful, ever communicate the terms of reflection itself?

La GNF Gallery est fière de présenter l'exposition Turn a Blind Eye avec les œuvres de Merzedes Sturm-Lie (SE, BE, NO) et Felix Kindermann (DE). Résultant d'une résidence exploratoire longue d'un mois dans l'espace de la galerie elle-même, cette exposition articule les œuvres produites durant cette période. Ayant choisit pour point de départ le fameux Golden Record, un objet contenant l'inscription de diverses images, musiques, messages de bienvenue et images de la terre envoyé dans l'espace à bord du vaisseau spatial Voyager en 1977, les artistes ont investigué les concepts de réflexion et de vérité : comment se construit et se dé-forment l'espace mental et physique ? Un miroir, si fidèle soit-il, peut-il jamais communiquer les termes de la réflection elle-même ?
